Derived from the ancient city of
Benares, these malas retain for years the pure and
lovely sandalwood fragrance. When the Buddhist
teachings flourished in India, meditators would retreat
to the cool sandalwood groves during the heat of the
summer. These
sandalwood beads are dyed a deep reddish brown
and are more highly polished than the natural sandalwood
beads.Restrung and finished with a cotton
tassel.
